Fabian Fiorini is a highly original and virtuoso pianist. His background ranges from the Western art music tradition and improvisation to ethnic music.
Fabian Fiorini followed a classical training percussion, piano and classical harmony at the Brussels and Liège conservatories, where he obtained prizes for solfege, history, harmony and analysis. After a high-level theoretical training with teachers the likes of Fredéric Rzewski he found a stronger connection with his instinctive beacons through scene work, improvisation, imagination and wealth of the group work.

Fabian Fiorini has written handful of scores and compositions for theatre (LOD, Theater Zuid-Pool), film but has been asked by his colleague musicians too... and even for the highly acclaimed Queen Elizabeth Competition he was requested to write the composition. He accompanies musicians such as Guy Cabay, Marcia Maria and Fabrizio Cassol and worked in the past with big names including Garrett List, Dick van der Harst, Wim Vandekeybus and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.

His many trips to Africa, South America and North America aroused his interest in the diversity of the traditions of rhythm.
He has often been associated with the Belgian avant-guard bands, such as Aka Moon and Octurn, with which he recorded several albums.

Fabian Fiorini is een uitermate virtuoze en originele pianist. Zijn achtergrond reikt van de westerse kunstmuziektraditie en de improvisatie tot de etnische muziek.

Met hem opent zich het spannende, vrijgevochten en bij wijlen wilde avontuur van de piano solo. Het geeft hem naar eigen zeggen een zekere 'thrill' om te gaan creëren, eigen composities, vrije improvisaties en standards uit de jazz en pop aan elkaar te rijgen.

Fabian Fiorini volgde een opleiding slagwerk, piano en klassieke harmonie aan de conservatoria van Brussel en Luik, waar hij prijzen voor notenleer, geschiedenis, harmonie en analyse in ontvangst nam. Na een hoog-niveau theoretische opleiding met docenten als Fredéric Rzewski vond hij al snel aansluiting bij zijn instinctieve bakens via toneelwerk, improvisatie, de verbeelding en de rijkdom van het groepswerk.

Fabian Fiorini heeft meer dan een handvol geschreven scores en composities voor theater (LOD, Theater Zuid-Pool), film gemaakt, maar wordt ook door zijn collega muzikanten en hedendaagse ensembles gevraagd om te schrijven ... darenboven werd hem de opdracht toevertrouwd om het verplichte werk te componeren voor de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd voor piano 2016. Hij begeleidt musici zoals Guy Cabay, Marcia Maria en Fabrizio Cassol en werkte in het verleden al samen met grote namen, waaronder Garrett List, Dick van der Harst, Wim Vandekeybus en Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.

Zijn vele reizen naar Afrika, Zuid-Amerika en Noord-Amerika wekte zijn interesse in de diversiteit van de tradities van ritme. Hij is vaak in verband gebracht met de Belgische avant-garde bands, zoals Aka Moon en Octurn, waarmee hij meerdere albums heeft opgenomen.
